Snowcastle Games (2009-2017) Illustrator, Art Director
Started the company with two other developers. Today the company is one of the most established indie developers in Norway with a team of 12 people and two own IPs released on multiple platforms.
Through Snowcastle I have also worked with visual development for multiple clients including TV2 and Egmont.
I did the visual design and general concept development for Snowcastle’s next game “Lost Memories” which is venturing into a more realistic, gritty noir universe.
On EARTHLOCK I did most of the visual design including characters, environments, monsters, UI and branding. I managed the art team in-house and external contractors, but was also heavily involved in the design and story elements of the game.
The 5 year development time was a big challenge, but by tailoring the art direction to the team and keeping all the art consistent with the original vision using strict guidelines, we managed to craft an experience that has been widely praised for its unique and charming visuals.
“The game is visually stunning”
“The graphics are stunning.”
“Whilst the art style here verges on the cartoonish, the gorgeous sense of colour and texture really brings the world alive.”
“First of all, Earthlock's graphical style is absolutely gorgeous.”
“The last thing that needs to be said about Earthlock is that it is impossibly attractive. The art director of the game is a master of his craft…”
HOGWORLD - was a unique hybrid of a side-scroller adventure game and a childrens book with beautifully painted environments with 3D depths. I designed all the characters and environments. I also developed the story and had direction on the music.
The game got rave reviews
“With stunning 3D visuals, a varied soundtrack, great voice acting and interactions that are seamlessly incorporated into the story, kids will be transported into another world.”
“Gameplay, beautiful graphics, and animation make this a treat to the senses.”
